Volunteer Workday & Range Closure: Monday Aug 3rd (Free Lunch Included!)

UPDATE: CHANGE OF DATE FROM AUGUST 3 TO AUGUST 17

A scheduling conflict has come up regarding our makeup workday, and we will need to reschedule. The new date is Monday, August 17th.

I apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause, and I hope this new date works well for everyone’s schedule.

Hey everyone,

Summer is rolling by, and it’s time to get our make-up workday on the calendar to finish up general maintenance across the skeet, trap, and sporting clays fields.

We’re looking for volunteers to lend a hand with range cleanup and upkeep. Whether you can stay for an hour or the whole morning, your help makes a huge difference.

Workday Details

  • Date: Monday, August 3, 2026

  • Time: 8:00 AM – Until finished (expecting to wrap up around noon)

  • Location: Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays Fields

⚠️ Please note: All fields (Skeet, Trap, and Sporting Clays) will be closed for maintenance during this time.

Larry has generously offered to cook lunch at the clubhouse again for everyone who helps out, and extra snacks/drinks will be provided throughout the morning!

What We’ll Be Tackling

Skeet & Trap Fields:

  • Trim the bottom of all house doors so they clear the concrete.

  • Repaint skeet stations and trap handicap lines (green lines).

  • Stain all new handrails and touch up fences and benches.

  • Build standard-height hoop inserts for all skeet fields (including setting metal ground sleeves).

  • Treat carpenter bee holes on clubhouse exterior timbers (spray, pack with steel wool, dowel plug, and stain).

  • Install a new post at the end of the fence between Fields 2 & 3.

  • Remount and install second handrails from the inside to the top of the rails.

Sporting Clays:

  • Stain the rear stairs leading to the second level.

  • Touch up paint on front entry stairs and main doorways.

  • Wire brush and touch up paint on all shooting stand bases.

RSVP

Please email Todd Kisling if you can make it so we can get an accurate head count for Larry’s lunch prep. Feel free to bring friends along—the more hands we have, the faster we finish!
